Gábor Békés
Bio
Gábor Békés is a research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His research is focused on applied work in international economics; economic geography, location choice of manufacturing firms, foreign direct investment, and innovation, internationalization and productivity of firms. Gábor received his Ph.D. degree in 2007 from the Central European University, with a thesis about location of and spillovers from foreign manufacturing firms in Hungary. He holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and an MSc in Finance from the Corvinus University Budapest. Gábor has been involved in policy and business consulting. Before joining the Institute, he was a visiting researcher at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank and worked for Lehman Brothers, an investment bank in London.
